IT Support Technician
Schoolhouse IT is a managed service provider working with small businesses and schools across the state of Montana. Our work takes us to different regions of the state working on site with our partners resolving technical work tickets and working projects, including physical networking installs, camera and door installations. Our team works in assisting staff with technical support of workstations, tablets, and other classroom and business specific technologies. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interacting with staff members to diagnose and resolve their IT needs. The team member in this position also assists in the maintenance and testing of network and servers and associated equipment. This position requires both independent problem solving and working in a collaborative team environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience supporting workstations and peripherals
- Understanding of computer and networking fundamentals
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to work with others
Desired Qualifications:
- 2-year degree in Cybersecurity, Network Support, or related disciplines; or equivalent work experience
- Experience with network management (programing routers, switches, and access points)
- CompTIA A Net & Security
Other Requirements:
- Able to lift and move computers and computer-related equipment (50 lbs ) and work on ladders
- Valid Montana driver’s license and able to be insured through the company vehicle insurance
- Willing to drive company vehicle to client locations
- Ability to work longer days when scheduled (up to 12 hour days)
- Successful background check - no criminal or other history that would impede working in a K-12 environment
- Regional (Montana) day travel is required and some overnights.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $29.00 per hour
Pay Differentials: 2$ Day Travel, 6$ Overnights Travel
Expected hours: 40 per week
