Schoolhouse Manufacturing is currently seeking to fill the Construction Purchasing Agent position.
The purchasing agent will work closely with the purchasing manager. The construction purchasing agent is responsible for evaluating and negotiating with the suppliers. To be successful in this role, you must have a keen eye for determining the best supplier in terms of standards, dependability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Responsible for developing creative and cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Responsible for selecting and working with trustworthy vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiating with vendors and suppliers to get favorable terms including national contracts.
- Reviewing existing contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure their continued viability & cost competitive.
- Maintain and build long-term partnerships with suppliers and vendors.
- Responsible for arranging and approving deliveries of goods and services and authorizing purchase orders.
- Must meet budgetary limits set forth.
- Keep track of the procurement budget and promote a long-term procurement cost-cutting mentality.
- Maintaining and overseeing the supply of commodities, inventory, and shipments.
- Overseeing the preparing of procurement reports, damage & return reprints & bills of materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
- 3 years in procurement experience, 2 years of industry experience.
- Must have a track record of successfully managing supply chain operations.
- Familiar with supply chain management software and technologies.
- Thorough understanding of contract preparation and evaluation and invoicing and negotiation conditions.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Access, Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Must hold strong leadership and management skills.
- Must be able to supervisor & establish best practice process for buyers, procurement admins & inventory control terms.
- Multitasking and time management abilities and the capacity to prioritize activities are required skills.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities are also required to succeed in this job role.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $68,640.00 per year
