What You'll Be Doing

The Vice President of IT Software Development will oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of Member-facing and business software solutions for the enterprise. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of IT Data, Development & Security, this role requires strong leadership in software engineering, exceptional collaborative teamwork skills, and a proven track record of successful project delivery. The VP will also foster an inclusive and innovative environment.

Salary Range $250K - 290K plus incentives

Act as a strategic partner to all business units in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining Member-facing solutions.
Define and implement the software development strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
Accountable for development of development technology solution roadmap to ensure interoperability with on premise custom and vendor supported hosted solutions.
Utilize SDLC, Agile, Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery, and change management to achieve business objectives.
Collaborate with business units to evaluate and integrate new, innovative solutions with SchoolsFirst's systems and processes to meet strategic objectives.
Ensure software development meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
Design solutions with maintainability, ease of integration, and testing in mind from the outset.
Demonstrate strong proficiency in industry-standard development and testing practices, with extensive experience in design and architectural patterns.
Lead teams responsible for developing and implementing custom, in-house, and configurable vendor-provided solutions to support business objectives.
Partner with IT leadership to support credit union-wide shared systems, database management, content (imaging) management, contact management, and rules engines across all business units.
Understand complex business processes across multiple units to recommend enhancements that support continuous improvement in Member service delivery (e.g., internet, branches, card services, contact center, and lending).
Establish software development policies, procedures, technical standards, methods, and priorities.

Additional Job Functions

Develop and coach managers and team by establishing annual performance goals, allocating resources, setting priorities and progressing teammembers' technical skills and knowledge.

Manages division budget.

Handles the most sensitive Member issues to ensure a positive Member experience and outcome.

Contributes to organizational strategies and priorities as a member of Leadership team. Establishes and implements strategies that have mid to long-term (3-5 years) impact on business results in alignment with organization objectives.

Appropriately identifies, evaluates, and manages risk within area and implements risk mitigation strategies and activities as appropriate.

Supports credit union in overall financial objectives and Member Service goals.

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with third-party vendors and sub-servicer to ensure highest level of service is provided to Members.

Provides insights and recommendations as to the strength of the Credit Union's brand and ways of enhancing them.

Guides the department's development by soliciting feedback from its internal customers and making needed improvements.

Takes initiative to bring forward and implement ideas that help the credit union grow successfully.

Performs other duties as assigned

Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience required

7-10 years previous experience required

3-5 years of experience in management position required

Extensive experience in application development within cloud ecosystems, with familiarity in Azure or other cloud platforms

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong technical expertise in agile software development, with proven architecture and design skills, and working knowledge of modern programming languages and tools such as C#, C , Python, and Git. Experience with Visual Studio for Windows is a plus

Well-organized, efficient, detail-oriented self starter, able to work independently.

Excellent analytical ability, and the ability to conduct thorough research, interpret and understand laws and regulations, and provide workable recommendations and solutions to problems.

Broad knowledge of, and practical experience with, credit union or other financial institution operating areas, functions, products and services and the laws and regulations which apply to credit unions.

Ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in an efficient and effective manner.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The ability to work with all levels of management and credit union staff, as well as Members.
