Schuering & Doyle, LLP, a medical malpractice insurance defense firm, has an opening for an experienced, full-time litigation secretary for a busy Partner’s desk. The position is non-exempt, and our work week is 37.5 hours. We offer an excellent benefit package, as well as a hybrid schedule after a few months on the job in-office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : “Essential functions” are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.
- Assist attorney with all aspects of managing cases through trial
- Types correspondence, pleadings, memoranda and other legal documents; drafts standard correspondence, pleadings, memoranda and other documents
- Reviews, sort and chits incoming documents and mail
- Establishes and maintains calendar and deadline reminder systems; utilizes master calendar system
- Electronic Transcription
- Opens new files, requests conflict of interest checks with front desk, and maintains all client and general files; prepares files to be closed
- Receives clients and visitors; maintains good public relations with clients; observes confidentiality of attorney-client relationship
