What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Schuette Metals?
POSITION SUMMARY
Reviewing customer prints and technical documents, creating bill of materials and shop routes, calculating requirements needed and creating shop routings, researching and supplying necessary pre-production details.
Typical schedule is 7 : 00am- 3 : 30pm Monday-Friday
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must have relevant experience and understanding of the cost and time associated with the processes and procedures required to take raw material and produce a finished product per the specifications on customer supplied blueprints.
- Ability to work within time constraints to meet scheduled deadlines and procedures.
- Geometry and trigonometry skills. Proficient in CAD; 3D a plus.
- Blueprint interpretation and understanding of geometric tolerance is required.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with co-workers, Focused Factory Managers, vendors and customers.
- USE CAD or making sketches to prepare drawings and provide to production to accurately produce product, resolving problems or differences with prints or contract detail as they relate to contract fulfillment, executing proper change orders or requests
- Assisting production and quality assurance with problem resolution as they relate to part inspection and verification, performing project planning and tracking and maintaining relative records in the Company database.
