Job Description: Front of House Manager / Lead
Location: Schuggy's American Grill & Taphouse – Hammond, WI
Position Overview:
Schuggy's American Grill & Taphouse is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and organized Front of House Manager / Lead to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant and bar. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences while managing the team and operations to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Recruit, hire, train, and mentor front-of-house staff, including servers, bartenders, and hosts.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to ensure excellent customer service.
- Manage scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels and respond promptly to call-ins or no-shows by covering shifts as needed.
- Customer Service:
- Lead by example, working shifts as a server or bartender to maintain connection with guests and staff.
- Ensure every guest has a positive dining experience by upholding service standards.
- Operations Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the front of house, including opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of goods, placing orders for beverages, bar supplies, and other necessities.
- Manage event planning and execution, including private parties, live music, and special promotions.
- Social Media & Marketing:
- Create and schedule engaging social media posts to promote the restaurant and events.
- Collaborate on marketing strategies to attract customers and increase visibility.
- Financial Oversight:
- Assist with tracking sales, labor costs, and inventory levels to align with budget goals.
- Work closely with ownership to identify and implement opportunities to improve revenue and cost control.
- Problem-Solving & Leadership:
- Act as the go-to leader for any issues that arise during shifts, including guest complaints, staff conflicts, or operational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant/bar management experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management, scheduling, and staff training.
- Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and marketing is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Hands-on experience in bartending and serving.
- A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for hospitality.
