POSITION OVERVIEW
LOGE Camps is seeking a Regional Controller to join our team of community builders, outdoor adventurers, and aficionados of welcoming experiences. This position is a remote work from home opportunity, plus travel.
The Regional Controller works to maximize asset value and returns on investment for our owners and equity partners and to provide proactive service support for our senior hotel teams and customers. This position will not directly oversee any corporate finance associates in their Division but indirectly supervise Staff Accountants to meet and exceed the strategic goals of the organization.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly oversee the financial aspects of a region of LOGE Hotels
- Provide timely and accurate financial analysis for the entire region
- Responsible for the training and development of all new GM's – training includes Accounting Processes & Procedures, Systems and Compliance Audit Expectations
- Coordinate with properties to ensure accurate and timely preparation of all financial statements and account reconciliations on a monthly basis; meeting all internal and ownership deadlines.
- Hold property leadership accountable in maintaining strong internal control environments at all properties to include maximization of profits, proper controls, optimal productivity and a coordination of efforts towards achieving objectives.
- Work with the GM to drive hotels' financial performance through continuous review and monitoring of hotel monthly and annual results, providing feedback to the appropriate Leadership Teams, and suggesting adjustments when appropriate.
- Review cash flows on a monthly basis to ensure accurate and timely receipt/payment of financial obligations, rents, tax credit fees, etc.
- Monitor the cash and working capital position of each asset to ensure acceptable working capital balances are maintained.
- Oversee the internal and external audit processes for all hotels.
- Support General Managers and the Operations teams with thoughtful analytics regarding forecasting, cost control and margin improvement.
- Evaluate and drive standardization and optimization of process, systems, communication and controls at each property for maximized results and efficiencies.
- Financial statement review – Review monthly financial statements and operating statistics generated by the Property Accounting department. Meet with the RVP and/or SVP of Operations regularly to set appropriate goals and objectives and time expectations for achievement.
- Annual Plan review – Provide detailed review of the annual budget and forecasts and identify opportunities to maximize market share, revenue, profit, cash flow, etc. Assist with the preparation of the annual capital plan for each hotel to ensure that our assets are well-maintained for our guests and consistent with cash and reserve requirements and return on investment criteria. Support Operations with the annual presentations to ownership.
- Review and understand financial statements that are delivered to our equity partners. Proactively communicate any concerns to ensure no surprises.
- Provide expert-level field support and assist with vendor escalation where necessary to prevent disruptions and maintain a high level of confidence in hotel systems
- Recommend new or revised processes to the field to maximize the use of hotel systems and technology
- Performs special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Hospitality
- 5 years of related experience in finance roles in a hospitality environment.
- Field and corporate experience is preferred
- Decentralized accounting experience is required – ideally as an Assistant DOF or DOF.
- Ability to travel on a regular basis
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
- Ability to spend extended periods of time at a computer
- A dynamic team player who is a quick study and can think creatively and effectively challenge existing practices.
- Able to skillfully shift between strategy and tactics and provide strong leadership to the finance organization.
- Strong computer and problem-solving skills including ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proven experience presenting, communicating, and negotiating with external investors, owners, lenders, third parties, etc.
