JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Cardinal Golf Course Pro Shop Assistant requires a candidate that is very upbeat and possessing of a welcoming attitude daily. Providing excellent communication skills, organization, and works well in a team setting. Understands how to handle difficult guests or situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to balance cash register drawer, opening and closing the golf shop with the professional team.
- Perform a variety of physical skills (able to frequently lift boxes, stock shelves, stand on your feet for the duration of a work shift, etc.)
- Operate a telephone, calculator and computer.
- Answer phone calls in a positive tone, always optimistic, and provide accurate course and resort information.
- Assist in receiving, presenting and selling merchandise in the golf shop.
- Be able to use and operate the tee time reservation software through training, along with checking in guests for their rounds.
- Assist with proper charging of members and guest fees.
- Be confident and firm in not allowing guests talk you into a lower rate and complying with resort policies and procedures.
- Maintain the golf shop in a clean and presentable condition.
- Understand requests and do not guess - seek out professional assistance when necessary.
- The ability to work long hours when necessary and be flexible with your schedule. Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays as necessary.
- Experience in a customer service atmosphere, preferably in a retail or golf setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledgeable about golf accessories and merchandise.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
