Schumacher Auto Group has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced results-focused, highly driven Accounting Manager for our North Palm dealership. The purpose of the Automotive Accounting Office Manager in North Palm is to supervise a team responsible for processing accounting responsibilities for the North Palm Schumacher dealership. Provides accurate reporting to the COO and Controller and is responsible for accounting office and administrative functions. Great pay and benefits to the right person.
Automotive Accounting Office Manager - Essential Duties
- Hires, trains, and supervises office personnel.
- Analyzes and organizes office operations and procedures.
- Utilizes CDK accounting software to manage and streamline accounting operations, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Trains staff on CDK software functionalities and ensure efficient utilization of the system across the department.
- Generates and analyze CDK reports and data to support financial planning and decision-making processes.
- Controls all posted documents, including time records, vehicle deals, commissions and additions and changes to inventory.
- Prepares daily bank deposit and cash report.
- Controls petty cash amounts for dealership and sales department.
- Reconciles select accounts monthly.
- Approves adjustments to inventory and receivable accounts.
- Ensures that all manufacturer accounts including warranty claims, rebates, interest, protection, and co-op advertising accounts are current and accurate.
- Prints monthly journals, schedules and general ledger. Closes month by processing accounting month-end.
- Assists in completion of annual audit.
- Stays abreast of current factory incentives and codes deliveries on dealership computer system accordingly.
- Administers charge-back program for late charges to inventory.
- Prepares monthly floor plan reconciliation
- Prepares sales commission/chargeback detail reports.
- Manages the payoff of vehicle floor plan and works with bank representatives.
- Approves new charge accounts and oversees collection of past due accounts.
- Compiles information and prepares reports as requested by management and/or dealer principal.
- Cross-trains a qualified substitute.
- Keeps an updated file of all dealership job descriptions.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Attends managers meetings as requested.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Education/Requirements:
- Proven 3 years minimum work experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager.
- Experience working with CDK, Dealertrack and/or other dealership accounting systems is preferable.
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, specifically Excel.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and GAAP accounting.
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience managing employees required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting is crucial. This includes managing financial statements, conducting variance analysis, and interpreting financial data to guide strategic decisions.
- Strong communication and leadership skills are essential to collaborate effectively and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
