What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telecom Fiber Optic Splicer - Experienced position at Schupp's Line Construction?
Responsibilities:
- Perform fiber optic splicing and testing in both aerial and underground environments
- Operate bucket trucks and other heavy equipment to access and work on telecommunication lines
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical and telephone equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with telecommunication systems
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient completion of projects
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times
Skills:
- Proficient in fiber splicing techniques and equipment
- Experience operating bucket trucks and other heavy equipment
- Knowledge of electrical and telephone systems and equipment
- Ability to perform equipment repairs as necessary
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot telecommunication issues
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members
- Able to splice SM/MM and trouble shooting.
- Knowledge of all types of fiber splicing and test equipment.
-Locate and repair cable faults.
-Able to confirm accurate cable terminations.
-Able to read and understand construction prints and splice schematics.
