Data Quality Specialist Coordinator
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency with use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Professional communication skills.
- Experience and/or familiarity with special education regulations, data analysis and medical terminology preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years data analysis experience preferred.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Dedicated Data Quality Specialist Coordinator to supervise the collection, management, and analysis of data within an organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management and analysis within an educational setting, ensuring that all data supports equitable access to educational opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Management:
- Supervise staff responsible for the collection, organization, and integration of data from various sources within the organization. (i.e. School Based ACCESS Billing, Special Education Reporting and Tracking and IPEDs.)
- Ensure the data is stored properly in secure databases or cloud storage solutions and is easily accessible to relevant teams.
- Coordinate with different departments to gather data necessary for reporting and analysis.
Reporting & Compliance:
- Create visual representations of data (e.g., charts, graphs) to facilitate understanding.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly reports as required.
- Provide regular data updates and reports to district administrators.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local education regulations regarding data privacy and security.
- Stay informed about best practices in data management and educational access initiatives.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement data quality assurance protocols to verify the accuracy of data collected and reported.
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies or issues as they arise.
Training and Support:
- Provide training to IU and district staff (e.g., secretaries, teachers, school administrators) on data entry, data management systems, and interpreting data to support student success.
- Stay current with trends in educational data management, reporting requirements, and new technologies in education data systems.
- Any other duties assigned by the Director of Special Education or designee.
Compliance:
- Represent IU29 as the Data Quality point of contact.
- Attend the monthly Data Quality Meetings at the state level.
- Support participating districts as the Data Quality Specialist.
Program/Classification:

Reports To:
- Director of Special Education and/or Designee
Method of Evaluation:
- This position shall be evaluated annually by the Director of Special Education in accordance with the ACT 93 and Support Staff Compensation Plan.
- This job description is subject to change by the Executive Director.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Medical Billing and Special Education Information Systems.
- IPED reporting
Terms of Employment:
- Employment shall be twelve [12] months per year. Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the ACT 93 and Support Staff Compensation Plan.
