The Schuylkill Valley School District has an anticipated vacancy for a Director of Buildings and Grounds. Salary range is $80,000 - $125,000, actual salary commensurate with education and experience. Responsibilities include providing leadership and management for the maintenance and custodial operations designed to ensure the safe, reliable operation of three buildings totaling 471,359 square feet of physical property and supporting infrastructure, managing operating budget, prioritizing and coordinating daily maintenance, repair, and operational activities, being on call 24/7 for urgent situations, providing technical assistance and training to staff, monitoring contracts for compliance and cost containment, and exercising a high level of independent judgment in the development and implementation of a comprehensive facility condition assessment, short and long term maintenance plans and preventative maintenance programs while facilitating a departmental commitment to safety. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related field, (5) five years’ experience, including supervision of facilities management personnel, demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others, and comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, technology, electrical systems, HVAC, and facility disciplines required. Previous school experience, grant writing experience, knowledge of the bid process, experience with procurement, experience with oversight of cleaning buildings and facilities, experience with athletic field maintenance, and master's degree preferred.
