We are hiring an Automation & Controls Engineer in Stilwell, OK, home to Edward's and Mrs. Smith's frozen pies and one of the largest dessert manufacturing plants in the country! As a Controls Engineer you will be responsible for the technical and functional supervision of electrical, automation and controls systems in a highly automated pie facility.
Responsibilities
- As a subject matter expert, leading the implementation of strategic automation and control projects.
- Developing and implementing medium to long-term controls, network architecture, and plant floor strategies to drive efficiency, plant floor productivity, and innovation.
- Helping create plant automation standards for controls logic, HMI screen layout and design.
- Coaching and mentoring Controls Technicians to build technical capability and leadership behaviors consistent with our stated goal.
- Providing advanced troubleshooting skills to support plant operations.
- Supporting the functionality and maintenance of production equipment, controls hardware, and production systems.
- Bachelor of Science or master’s degree in engineering required (Electrical preferred, Mechanical, Chemical), or equivalent experience. ABET accredited program is a strong preference.
- 5 years of experience with Automation and Controls in a Manufacturing setting.
- Experience with manufacturing food and beverage or consumer packaged goods companies is preferred. Experience in plant operations and industrial environments.
- Demonstrates leadership, problem-solving, decision making, troubleshooting, communications, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with a team and influence diverse groups at various levels and across functions.
- Ability to teach the fundamentals of electrical automation and control systems (PLC’s, HMI’s, Robotics, SCADA, VFD’s, Servo Drives). Strong aptitude for programming PLC and HMI logic (Allen Bradley preferred).
- Ability to read, interpret, and modify equipment drawings such as: electrical schematics, P&ID’s, and similar using CAD based software. Proficient in SCADA development & programming (Ignition).
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the primary codes and safety requirements applicable to controls safety systems, robotics (FANUC and ABB), and power distribution systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred), controls hardware, and wiring at the machine level.
- Strong understanding of low and medium voltage power distribution (480VAC and below) is preferred.

Salary : $73,500 - $122,500
