Position Objective
The Preroll Production Lead is responsible for overseeing the production of pre-roll and infused pre-roll using various methods and equipment to support both Wholesale and Retail demand. This role focuses on coordinating production, managing raw material inventory, and ensuring quality control in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The goal is to support the production team in meeting market demand efficiently and effectively.

Essential Functions
Production Planning & Coordination (40%)
- Demand Forecasting: Maintain weekly and monthly production forecasts for pre-roll production by SKU, based on sales data provided by the Plant Manager.
- Production Scheduling: Develop daily and weekly production schedules, setting clear goals and quality standards for the team.
- Training: Ensure all team members are fully trained to operate equipment safely and efficiently. Conduct training and retraining as needed.
- Raw Material Forecasting: Support weekly and monthly forecasts for raw materials to meet production goals.
- Inventory Management: Collaborate with the Logistics team to maintain optimal raw material inventory levels and update purchase orders in the ERP system (Sage X3).
- Customer Alignment: Coordinate with Retail, Wholesale, and Commercial teams to stay informed about product launches, promotions, and market trends impacting production.
- Team Support: Work closely with team members to ensure smooth and efficient production, meeting daily production goals.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to improving production processes, ensuring operational efficiency and reducing waste.
- Operations: Oversee the production process from planning through packaging and labeling to ensure all targets are met.
- Finished Goods Inventory: Monitor finished goods inventory to ensure production aligns with demand without overproduction or underproduction.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the production equipment is properly maintained, and assist with troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
- Reporting: Input all required production data into the ERP system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Compliance: Ensure the team adheres to the highest standards of regulatory compliance and follows all SOPs.
- Quality Control: Maintain strict adherence to quality standards in all aspects of the production process.
- Safety: Ensure that safety practices are followed, including wearing required PPE and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Equipment Safety: Perform regular checks on equipment to ensure safety protocols are followed, and maintenance is kept up to date.
- Good Manufacturing Practices: Follow GMP-compliant production processes and work to continuously improve practices.
- Team Support: Assist with any team-related needs, ensuring effective communication and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in regulated cannabis manufacturing or 2 years in other production environments.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Experience with demand planning, inventory management software, and production scheduling.
- Experience in a lead role or coordinating a production team.
- Additional relevant certifications or training.
- Experience operating Hefestus pre-roll automation system.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Close visual acuity required for reading fine print on product labels and equipment screens.
- Overtime may be necessary based on business needs including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) badge in the state of Colorado.
