The purpose of the Accounting Clerk position is to provide general accounting, clerical, and administrative work in accordance with established processes. This position will mainly be responsible for cash handling and accurately and efficiently completing reconciliations and deposits on a daily basis. The position will act as accounts receivable back-up and support the accounts receivable function.
- Responsible for cash handling and accurately and efficiently completing reconciliations and deposits on a daily basis.
- Tracking and delivery of drawers for admissions
- Pick up previous days’ drawers.
- Pick up deposit and credit card receipts from Science Shop daily.
- Count drawers for verification.
- Reconcile till variances between POS and drawers.
- Complete deposit and drop for courier service.
- Verify safe amount.
- Maintain & retain all credit card receipts in conjunction with retention policies.
- Support the accounts receivable function.
- Assist and support all positions within Accounting with clerical responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Complete all projects presented by management.
- Minimum 1 year of experience cash handling and working with point of sales systems.
- Minimum 1 year experience utilizing excel.
- Preference may be given for experience above the minimum requirement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Must have working knowledge of POS systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be accurate and efficient in performing work.
- Ability to be aware of working timelines and deadlines.
- Ability to work weekday mornings.
Working Conditions:
This position works in a climate controlled office setting and may be subjected to a fast paced decision making environment.
- Work may include occasional pushing and/or pulling, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- May require working on a computer for long periods of time, using a keyboard, viewing a digital screen.
