Position Summary

Location: Atlanta

The Insights Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in our Analytics & Insights group, contributing to the development and maintenance of robust data infrastructure and pipelines. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data processing workflows to support the organization's data-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a deep understanding of data integration strategies, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The data engineer will be responsible for integrating data from heterogeneous systems, each with highly unique structures and formats. This requires the ability to handle diverse data ecosystems, tailoring data processing approaches to the specific requirements of each source. Extensive experience with SQL Server, Python, and AWS is preferred. We are looking for a problem solver that can think critically and provide solutions utilizing industry best practices as needed to our many stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently design, develop, and optimize data processing pipelines for both batch and real-time data.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure effective data flow.
  • Implement ETL/ELT processes to ingest and transform data from various sources into usable formats while ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the process.
  • Implement database design principles for efficient data retrieval and storage.
  • Develop and maintain workflow automation systems to orchestrate data processing tasks.
  • Collaborate with other teams to integrate data processing workflows into broader business processes.
  • Implement and manage security measures to protect sensitive data, including access controls and encryption.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Highly proficient with relational databases, specifically SQL Server.
  • Proficient with data processing and ETL/ELT methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with AWS tools (Redshift, Glue, Athena, Lambda, etc.)
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, improvement, and staying abreast of emerging data technologies.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex problems, identify appropriate solutions, and implement them effectively.
  • Must have a mentality that aligns with continuous learning, improvement, and personal growth.
  • Must have attained at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
