Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Finance for our client, an incredible Chicago nonprofit providing food and social services for anyone in need. This is an exciting, hybrid, direct-hire opportunity located in Chicago, IL.
As the Director of Finance you will lead the organization's finance efforts, managing an $8M+ budget and 60+ employees, ensuring a strong financial foundation to support its mission, balancing tactical and strategic priorities in line with the growth plan, and leading two direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee financial management and ensure policy compliance.
Collaborate on budgets, projections, and variance analysis.
Supervise Bookkeeper and Salesforce Administrator.
Manage reconciliation of donations and grants between Finance and Development.
Improve internal controls and optimize resources.
Oversee cash, investments, and expense budgets.
Complete month-end close and financial reporting.
Coordinate audits, tax filings, and 990 preparation.
Administer employee benefits and payroll filings with HR.
Manage company credit card expenses and ensure fiscal responsibility.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
5+ years of related experience, including nonprofit accounting and 990 prep.
Medicaid billing experience preferred.
CPA or CMA designation preferred.
Experience with grant reporting and Salesforce preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe PDF.
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
