Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Nonprofit Operations Coordinator for a mission-driven consulting firm that supports community-based organizations and systems change initiatives. This is a fully remote position based anywhere in the U.S., with working hours overlapping 8am6pm Eastern Standard Time. Candidates located in Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Arizona, Texas, Ohio, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Florida, New York, and Connecticut will be considered.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our client is seeking a strong Operations Coordinator who thrives on building efficient systems and processes to enhance collaboration and clarity within a values-driven organization. This new role will support both Human Resources and Finance functions, working closely with outsourced accounting partners and internal leadership. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, analytical, and energized by designing tools that empower team members to make strategic, sustainable decisions.

- Develop and maintain systems for hiring, performance management, onboarding, and benefits administration
- Lead equitable hiring processes and support employee life-cycle milestones
- Configure and implement new tools (e.g., ATS, performance review systems) and provide user training
- Coordinate project-based budget tracking and forecasting alongside team leaders
- Manage internal systems for time tracking, expense reporting, and monthly invoicing workflows
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, tax regulations, and contract processes while onboarding vendors and consultants
- Demonstrated project management experience, ideally in remote and mission-driven environments
- Nonprofit HR, Operations and Finance experience
- Proficient in system design and communication, with comfort using spreadsheets, pivot tables, and process documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to reducing errors and improving efficiency
- Analytical mindset with the curiosity and drive to complete complex projects independently
- Commitment to equity and inclusion, with the ability to work effectively across lines of difference
