Job Overview: The company is seeking a highly qualified Mechanical Engineer to lead brownfield and greenfield projects, ensuring the reliability and improvement of mechanical systems and equipment in a challenging industrial environment. This professional will be the key technical reference for mechanical engineering in both field operations and project execution, with a strong focus on validation, analysis, and compliance with American standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical leadership in mechanical systems, ensuring proper integration, operation, and reliability.
- Maintenance and improvement of existing mechanical equipment and infrastructure to ensure plant operation.
- Validation and analysis of used equipment to ensure compliance with applicable American laws and standards.
- Development and implementation of solutions for repurposed equipment, optimizing performance for production needs.
- Management and execution of projects for new mechanical equipment and installations, covering both greenfield and brownfield developments.
- Performing engineering calculations, stress analysis, and mechanical system design to ensure structural integrity and compliance.
- On-site support for troubleshooting mechanical failures and implementing corrective actions.
- Definition of standards and guidelines for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and applicable regulations.
- Interaction with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure proper specification and application of technologies.
- Technical documentation development, including specifications, mechanical drawings, process flowcharts, engineering calculations, and bill of materials.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical projects, and equipment reliability.
- Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment, piping systems, thermal systems, and industrial utilities.
- Experience with brownfield projects, integrating new mechanical systems into existing plants.
- Practical industrial experience and hands-on involvement in projects is essential.
- Experience in validation and analysis of used equipment, ensuring adherence to American regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
- Experience with mechanical system design, stress analysis, and structural integrity evaluation.
- Familiarity with applicable technical standards (ASME, API, ANSI, ISO).
- Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Ability to work both in the field and in project environments.
- Proactive approach to identifying and implementing process and equipment improvements.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in continuous process industries or discrete manufacturing.
- Experience in GMP-regulated industries and bioprocessing is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of asset management and predictive maintenance systems.
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Certifications or specialized training in mechanical engineering fields.
