What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Health Receptionist position at SCK Health?
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday 8AM – 5PM
Salary: Starting at $15/hr
This position is responsible for interacting with guests in a healthcare setting and managing administrative tasks for the medical team. Their duties include scheduling patient appointments according to doctor availability, explaining intake forms to new patients and processing payments after treatment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a warm and professional manner
- Manage incoming calls and emails in a timely and professional manner
- Respond to inquiries regarding clinic services
- Scheduling patients appropriately and timely
- Verifying patient’s demographics are accurate at every visit
- Assist on an ongoing basis company/employer information is accurate for billing purposes
- Assist with billing and payment process
- Assist with maintaining medical records and files
- Maintain and stock office supplies and exam room
- Assist medical staff checking expired specimen supplies
- Operate standard office equipment (scanner, computer, printer, fax, etc.)
- Prep patients’ chart for provider and medical staff
- Follow up on no shows with patients/clients
- Maintain the lobby and reception areas in a manner that is organized, neat and clean
- Collects mail for the clinic
- Assist in the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies by alerting the manager
- Attends scheduled department meetings
- Exercise utmost diplomacy and tact to provide excellent customer service for patients; practices confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance to clinic policies and HIPPA requirements
Physical Demands:
- Frequent sitting and walking
- Occasionally lifting to 20lbs
- Combination of sitting, standing, bending, light lifting and walking
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certificate for C.N.A or Medical Assistant a plus
- Bilingual Spanish a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Working knowledge Microsoft software and EHR (CPSI & Athena)
- Organized and attention to details
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- A desire to contribute to the growth and development of SCK Health
Working Conditions:
- Involves frequent personal and telephone contact with patients/clients
- Work may be stressful at times
- Works space, well lighted and ventilated
- Exposure to communicable disease
