Hotel Virginia is seeking a dedicated Café Attendant / Bartender to join our team! This role is essential in providing exceptional service and ensuring that guests have a memorable experience at our café bar. You’ll be responsible for preparing beverages, food, and ensuring cleanliness, all while maintaining high standards of hospitality and operational efficiency.
Hourly Rate: $16.50
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare beverages and food following company recipes and standards to ensure quality and consistency.
- Operate P.O.S. systems, handle cashiering functions, and maintain accurate billing.
- Provide friendly, professional service by greeting guests, offering menus, and serving orders promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in both the bar and kitchen areas, following the "Clean As You Go" policy.
- Uphold safety and sanitation standards, ensuring food is handled and stored properly.
- Serve food and beverages to guests while managing kitchen lines and service areas, ensuring the highest levels of efficiency and quality.
- Scan guest IDs to ensure compliance with state liquor laws and serve alcohol responsibly.
- Break down and clean service areas at the end of each shift, properly storing all food and equipment.
- Assist in controlling costs by managing inventory, portion sizes, and minimizing waste.
- Perform opening and closing side work to ensure smooth operations.
- Attend all required staff meetings and comply with company policies and regulations
- Approach all encounters with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance with flexibility based on hotel business needs.
- Comply with certification requirements (e.g., Alcohol Awareness, Food Handlers).
- Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming in line with brand standards.
- Familiarity with hotel policies, emergency procedures, and kitchen safety equipment.
- Be knowledgeable about menu items and preparation methods to answer guest questions and ensure order accuracy.
- Practice safe work habits to prevent injury and ensure a safe environment for all.
