Must be Bilingual (Spanish/English)

The Training & Development Manager leads the design, planning, and implementation of organization-wide training and development programs including on the job training (OJT), leadership and soft skills development, and various compliance-oriented training topics. This role supports performance management, succession planning, and talent reviews related to identification of training and development needs. A significant focus of this position is building and maintaining a comprehensive, structured OJT program that can be effectively and repeatably deployed to departmental leaders and trainers. Additionally, the Training & Development Manager designs, develops, and executes impactful learning and development solutions that identify and grow individual capabilities and build organizational talent. This position leads company-wide learning initiatives including needs assessments, management and team member development, orientation, and annual training, learning design, delivery, and evaluation, as well as trainer development.

Estimated starting annual base salary is $112,717.99 - $169,076.98 per year less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, paid based on Company performance factors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with operational subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, develop, and deploy a structured on-the-job training (OJT) program, to include oversight of the Train-the-Trainer programs and certification processes.
  • Partner with People Leaders to identify, prioritize, and close skills gaps through the use of OJT and supplemental skills training programs.
  • Act as SME on training methodologies to facilitate transfer of skills from training to job performance.
  • Build templates, assessments, checklists, and outlines to be used during OJT activities.
  • Develop testing and evaluation processes.
  • Provide coaching support to SMEs responsible for conducting training.
  • Leverage and manage internal and external resources, best practices, and technologies to improve performance and engage adult learners.
  • Design, coordinate, and facilitate high quality employee training and development workshops and impactful team-building opportunities through various platforms and methodologies.
  • Use evaluation data continuously to improve learning program content and delivery. Challenge the status quo to drive improved outcomes.
  • Participate in various Human Resources (HR) team initiatives and projects, as requested.
  • Use a blended learning methodology to roll out continuous digital learning plans and pathways that support new, agile ways of working and just-in-time development.
  • Develop and deliver creative communication campaigns to communicate strategy and engage learners.
  • Assist in identifying talent gaps, skills gaps, and competency gaps. Create development programs to ensure we build on opportunities that are identified.
  • In a collaborative way, support core talent processes to drive performance including learning & development, leadership development, performance management, and succession planning. This may include mentorship and employee engagement.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to identify, develop, and implement solutions targeting employee development and overall talent management solutions (identify, select, develop, engage, and retain).
  • In partnership with the HR leadership, support functional leaders in developing career paths and succession planning initiatives, and integrate into overall learning and development plans.
  • Ensure all training and development programs are achieving desired results for quality and business impact by creating, monitoring, and measuring key talent development metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Partner and direct content developers (internal and external), as well as provide support and task direction to internal OJT trainers during the development and deployment of OJT programs.

 

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, learning & development, or education, or commensurate combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Bilingual- Spanish/English.
  • 5 years’ experience in learning and development, talent management and/or human resources.
  • Experience developing and/or deploying on-the-job training (OJT) programs.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, HRIS, and/or Talent management systems.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a variety of technical roles.
  • Experience in adult learning theories, instructional design, and/or leadership development.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
  • Proven ability to manage projects and/or implement programs.
  • Proven analytical, data analysis and decision-making skills towards developing people.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization and influence others.
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with various client groups across the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail, customer service, project management and change management skills and ability to lead programs.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking, creative problem solving, judgment, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding and application of talent management assessment and processes such as selection, onboarding, performance management and employee development.
  • Ability to lead and drive organizational change initiatives.
  • Desire to continuously learn and act as a “strategic doer” who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal staff and management.  Expert facilitation skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise materials to deliver formal presentations in person and virtually. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with job instruction principles.
  • Experience working in a GMP or similarly regulated environment.
  • APTD, CPTD, or similar certifications for training professionals.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or other HR-related certification.
