What are the responsibilities and job description for the CLINICAL SUPERVISOR position at SCO Family of Services?
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to the infant mental health specialist and psychotherapist within the Bethany Program.
Monitor and support staff development, and therapeutic effectiveness. - Participate in scheduled interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care with various program staff, including therapists, nurses, and consulting psychiatrists.
- Ensure all clinical services comply with SCO Family of Services policies, New York State (NYS), and federal regulations. Uphold professional ethical standards in all aspects of clinical care.
- Coordinate and oversee clinical care in collaboration with consulting psychiatrists and program nurses to meet the unique mental health needs of residents.
- Actively support the adoption and application of trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic models, ensuring that the clinical team is trained and engaged in best practices.
- Serve as a clinical resource for program staff, offering insights and training on trauma, mental illness, substance use, and other factors impacting youth functioning.
- Foster a cooperative, supportive atmosphere within the clinical team and participate in initiatives to build a positive team culture.
Perform additional responsibilities as needed, including potentially carrying a small caseload or assisting with special projects under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services.
Qualifications:
- Active NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Psychologist required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing clinical supervision. Proven background working with pregnant and parenting adolescents and young adults, as well as experience in infancy and child development.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and experience implementing evidence-based treatment models with youth affected by trauma, domestic violence, mental health challenges, and substance use.
- Familiarity with electronic health records for documentation and compliance purposes.
- Experience working with diverse, multicultural populations and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by underserved youth and families.
Candidates must complete a physical exam and clearances by NYS Central Register, NYS Justice Center, DMV (if licensed driver), and fingerprinting.
