ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develop and lead sourcing, category, and procurement strategies for direct materials in mechanical areas, focusing on cost reduction, on-time delivery, quality improvement, supplier performance, and consolidation to support manufacturing and field operations.
- Analyze total spend, pricing structures, commercial terms, and market trends for raw materials, finished products, and assemblies, with an understanding of global supply chain dynamics.
- Create strategic roadmaps, identifying and developing new suppliers for cost savings and new product development.
- Review BOMs, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to drive strategic sourcing decisions and ensure manufacturing readiness.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies to address supply chain constraints.
- Manage Purchase Price Variance (PPV) to minimize P&L impact while ensuring material availability for manufacturing.
- Monitor supplier performance, implementing corrective actions and recovery plans with Supplier Quality Engineering.
- Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities, overseeing savings initiatives and long-term cost reduction pipelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Engineering, Product Management, Project Management, Field Operators, and Finance.
- Conduct RFQs/RFPs/RFIs, negotiations, and supplier evaluations for mechanical category procurement.
- Develop strategies for End-of-Life (EOL) products and legacy parts to maintain operations and revenue.
- Implement performance management metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to track supplier performance.
- Provide technical direction on product strategy throughout development and manufacturing lifecycles.
- Negotiate and execute strategic agreements (NDA/JDA/MSA) with legal counsel, ensuring alignment with cost, lead-time, capacity, and IP protection objectives.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration (Master s/MBA preferred).
- Preferred certifications: Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or PMP.
- Expertise in purchasing policies, procedures, and P2P digital platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio), SAP, Oracle, and/or Ariba.
- Deep knowledge of strategic sourcing, procurement strategies, and direct spend in mechanical domains.
- 10 years of strategic sourcing, procurement, and category management experience.
- Strong background in mechanical component demand-supply cycles and supplier partnerships in dynamic environments.
- Skilled in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis for data-driven supplier and component selection.
- Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with ERP systems, Spend Data Analytics & Reporting, eSourcing, and contract management.
- Track record of developing cost reduction strategies through should-costing, process improvements, and innovation.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex data to senior executives.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to shape the organization s future procurement strategy.
- Business acumen to understand challenges from leadership perspectives.
- Agile and strategic leader with the ability to influence decisions using data and facts.
- High integrity, dependability, and a results-driven mindset.
- Experience in OEM, elevator, aerospace, oil & gas, or similar industries.
- Willingness to travel 10% for business needs, training, or urgent supply chain matters.
