We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as a Planning Manager. This role will focus on developing business to drive improvements within our supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and senior management to implement strategies and drive efficiency across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance business processes, serving as the subject matter expert for continuous improvements across the planning environment.
- Drive proactive planning strategies to reduce inventory holding while increasing service levels.
- Drive continuous improvement in the demand management and statistical forecasting processes.
- Analyze and maintain demand for specific accounts, identifying discrepancies between forecasted and actual sales, adjust plans accordingly to drive accurate visibility for inventory replenishment purposes.
- Lead and coach planning team fostering the development of staff and their career growth.
- Develop and implement planning KPIs that will allow us to monitor performance and identify areas opportunity withing planning and operations
- Own all aspects of the planning system ( John Galt / DM ), lead upgrade projects, team trainings, and ensure planning metrics are maintained, such as safety stock levels and lead time.
- Manage heathy inventory balance between DCs to guarantee high service levels while reducing stock on hand and transportation cost
- Execute projects of varying urgency and scope with minimal guidance, while managing key stakeholders.
- Oversee the management of all SKUs through the supply chain, ensuring timely communication of disruptions and product availability to senior management.
- Facilitate alignment discussions in situations where demand exceeds supply, working with internal teams to manage the supply-demand gap.
- Maintain materials lifecycle status in ERP systems and manage supply chain visibility for sales and marketing teams.
- Perform multi-site and multi-level planning to ensure optimal supply from suppliers and internal sites, aligning with surface-level objectives.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with sales to identify opportunities, develop solutions.
- Provide fact-based recommendations on process, system, and organizational changes, and support project recommendations through detailed analysis.
- Collaborate with accounting and fulfillment teams to support inventory reconciliation adjustments.
- Work closely with IT teams to develop and implement technical solutions to support vendor partnerships and supply chain projects.
Requirements
- 10 years of planning experience in a distribution environment with a strong understanding of planning processes and ERP interface requirements.
- Proven leadership experience in consumer electronics, consumer goods, retail distribution, or similar industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
- 3 to 5 years of retail experience in inventory, buying, logistics, or consulting/supply chain management.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in supply chain improvement, financial analysis, or strategic planning.
- Expertise in Google Sheets and advanced Excel.
- Experience developing and presenting business cases to drive change.
- Ability to run meetings and present to executive teams.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
