This role involves providing high-quality nursing care, developing patient care plans, and ensuring compliance with public health protocols.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
STD CLINIC Coordinates STD Clinic under the direct supervision of the Communicable Disease Supervisor.Responsible for/and dispensing appropriate medication to treat existing disease processes determined by physical exam, culture reports, and lab results as per standing orders and STD treatment guidelines.Responsible for follow-up on all positive STD test results via telephone or home visit as needed to comply with health department and State Public health requirements.COMMUNICABLE DISEASEResponsible for follow-up of Shigellosis, Salmonella, E. Coli and Campylobacter, vectorborne diseases.Patient/parent teaching, telephone management, letter, or home visit.Responsible for completion of Communicable Disease Report and/or surveillance report as required by the state, and entering information into the NCEDSS (North Carolina Electronic Disease Surveillance System.TUBERCULOSIS Serves as Lead TB nurse.Assess patients with positive PPD’s, and evaluating for treatment of LTBI (Latent Tuberculosis Infection) per standing orders.Schedule chest x-rays through Scotland Memorial Hospital.Performs other related duties and tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
