What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Sterile Tech/Surgical Tech position at Scotland Memorial Hospital?
The Sterile Processing Technician functions within sterile processing of nursing to prepare, assemble, process and distribute instruments, equipment and supplies for utilization in the operating room and/or non-operative procedures; this includes appropriate record keeping. The Surgical Tech assists surgeon during operative procedures; ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedures.
Qualifications include Central Sterile Certification preferred; 1 year of experience in central sterile preferred; and/or completion of accredited surgical tech training program, surgical tech certification preferred; excellent communication, organization, computer and customer service skills.
