Description
Scott County Hospital and Scott County Clinic provide general medical and surgical care for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients. This 25-bed critical access hospital also includes 2 LDRP suites. The 68,000-square-foot facility, located in Scott City, Kansas, offers a variety of services to support our growing city and surrounding communities.
We are currently seeking a Chief Executive Officer to continue leading our team and meeting the needs of our community. The successful candidate will be a motivated, mission-driven leader with a strong background in leadership within a healthcare setting.
CEO Responsibilities:
- Select, employ, control and discharge all employees
- Determine organizational lines of authority and fix areas of responsibility
- Ensure that the organization has an effective management team
- Recommend rules governing conduct of employees while on duty, working hours and salary rates
- See that all physical properties are kept in a good state of repair and safe operating condition
- Authorize purchase of supplies and equipment, such as drugs, linens, and surgical and laboratory equipment
- Make recommendations to the governing board concerning alteration of equipment
- Ensure that sanitary conditions are maintained
- Ensures that the day-to-day business affairs of the organization are appropriately managed
- Coordinate and integrate functional phases of the total hospital program
- Develop standards and methods of measurement of hospital activities
- Interpret and enforce policies of the governing board to the Medical Staff and personnel and insure compliance with policies
- Prepare annual budget for control of expenditures, based on past experience, knowledge of market trends and other financial considerations
- Strives to achieve the organization’s financial and operating goals and objectives
- Submit regularly to the governing board periodic reports showing the professional service and financial activities of the hospital, and prepare and submit such special reports as may be required by the board and its committees
- Attend all meetings of the governing board
- Meet with department managers on a regular basis to coordinate their activities and formulate programs within the hospital
- Represent the facility at the National, State and Local level of government
- Participate in Community events
- Direct oversight of Physician Staff, Facilities, Rehab departments, EMS and Human Resources
CEO Special Duties:
- Fosters a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, corporate compliance, encourages individual integrity and fulfills social responsibility
- Must be able to act as a liaison between the Medical Staff and the governing board in matters of professional care and treatment of patients
- Ensures continuous improvement in the quality and value of the services provided by the organization
- Develops and recommends to the Board a long-term-strategy and vision for the organization that leads to creation of community value
- Attend meetings dealing with all phases of hospital administration
- Maintains a positive and ethical work climate that is conducive to attracting, retaining and motivating a diverse group of top-quality employees at all levels.
- Serves as the chief spokesperson for the organization
