Job Description
The Human Resource Assistant will provide administrative support to the organization's human resource department. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Perform clerical functions as required, including scanning, filing, and maintaining employee personnel files.
- Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provide clerical support to the HR department.
- Conduct or assist with new hire orientation.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as new-hire education days, recruiting fairs, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment:
