Mechanical Design Engineer
As a Mechanical Design Engineer , you will play a key role in designing and developing new products, integrating both mechanical and electrical technologies. You will collaborate on the concept, design, prototyping, and testing of innovative solutions while supporting their transition into production. Job Description
- Optimize mechanical designs for new products, balancing performance, size, weight, cost, and development timelines
- Apply mechanical expertise to components such as extrusions, sheet metal, machined parts, molded parts, and electrical systems
- Research and integrate new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks
- Ensure designs meet regulatory compliance and qualification testing requirements
- Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for new and existing designs
- Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Develop manufacturing work instructions to guide production teams
- Design tooling and assembly fixtures as needed
- Evaluate and qualify parts and vendors
