Under general supervision of the Assistant County Engineer, the temporary Engineering Technician provides technical support to secondary roads and bridge projects, to include conducting quality and progress inspections. Participates in construction surveying.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Iowa Department of Transportation certifications as an Aggregate Technician, and Level I Portland Cement Concrete Technician. Level I Hot Mix Asphalt Technician preferred. Must maintain Iowa Department of Transportation technician certifications throughout the duration of employment. Must possess a valid Driver's license.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENTWork is performed in a standard office environment and in the field at various construction project sites. While in the field may be exposed to dangerous tools, equipment, and machinery, hazards associated with traffic, extreme outdoor weather conditions, and hazardous chemicals. May be required to traverse uneven terrain, climb in and out of ditches, and lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
