We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with 5-10 years of expertise in commercial, K-12, higher education, healthcare, light industrial, or aviation projects. This role requires a strong background in project estimating and preconstruction, with the ability to manage all aspects of cost estimating, value engineering, and budgeting. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in developing accurate cost forecasts and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and completion of comprehensive project estimates across multiple sectors
- Analyze market trends, material costs, and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and material alternatives
- Create and manage preconstruction schedules, ensuring alignment with staffing needs and general conditions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors to enhance collaboration and project success
- Conduct detailed on-screen takeoffs and establish qualified subcontractor bid lists
- Actively engage with subcontractors to drive competitive bidding and evaluate bid accuracy and scope coverage
- Prepare and present detailed cost reports and project estimates to clients and stakeholders
- Review, analyze, and refine estimates from junior estimators and team members to ensure precision and completeness
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in estimating and preconstruction within commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, or aviation sectors
- Strong knowledge of cost analysis, value engineering, and market pricing trends
- Experience with estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst, WinEst, or Sage
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting cost breakdowns to clients
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
