Position Objective
The job of Nutritional Services Operations Manager is done for the purpose of providing leadership and supervision as necessary to provide students with quality food and customer service.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in food service management and/or nutrition preferred. Serve Safe certification required.
Experience: Five (5) years of progressive experience in food service management, preferably school food service, and/or nutritional experience as a dietitian in a community-based organization; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

- Assures that District and County safety and sanitation regulations are met for the purpose of keeping the department in compliance and maintaining high scoring standards in each kitchen
- Conducts regularly scheduled site audits for the purpose of program compliance
- Develops, implements and measures service strategies, including pilot programs, for the purpose of increasing student participation, satisfaction and revenues in the meal programs
- Evaluates and recommends assigned job duties and tasks for site managers for the purpose of meeting kitchen staffing needs and productivity goals
- Evaluates and trains site managers to utilize staffing levels for the purpose of providing excellent customer service and achieving financial goals
- Evaluates site managers annually for the purpose of providing guidance and direction, and ensuring successful achievement of goals
- Negotiates, tracks and ensures completion of site negotiated goals for the purpose of meeting departmental objectives
- Plans and executes marketing programs (in conjunction with Director of Nutritional Services) for the purpose of increasing the satisfaction level, participation, awareness and revenues of the school nutrition programs
- Provides site training and in-service programs for the purpose of increasing skills and knowledge of nutritional service workers and managers
- Schedules and conducts monthly meetings with managers for the purpose of conveying information, training and productivity reviews
- Assists other District and departmental employees as assigned for the purpose of completing food services tasks
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to work in a friendly manner and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the community.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
