Summary:
This is a salaried position, responsible for all liquor, beverage and concessions at Scranton Cultural Center events. Hours will vary depending upon event schedules. The position will assist the beverage/concessions manager in all aspects of planning, setup, running and teardown of event bars / concessions stands and will maintain sales and inventory procedures, cash handling, scheduling, supervision, training of event staff and bartenders/concessionaires. Specifically, this person will:
Essential Functions:
- Maintain cost controls, tracking of inventory in POS, stocking and purchasing of bar and concessions inventory – requires use of reliable vehicle to transport sales inventory.
- Provide consistent scheduling procedures, time tracking procedures and maintaining records.
- Maintain proper liquor, tracking inventory, and restocking according to PLCB regulations.
- Hiring and training of bartenders and event staff, develop and maintain RAMP/TIPS certification program for staff, and all related paperwork and policies.
- Provide supervision of bar activities, bartenders, controls and sales at events as scheduled.
- Develop signature drinks, sales plans and techniques to provide a profitable beverage and concessions business for weddings, parties, events, theatrical performances.
- Growth of a lively and competitive bar experience for customers and guests of the Scranton Cultural Center.
- Setup, teardown, maintain bars, event equipment, inventory for each event and between events.
- Implement and maintain the technology used by the beverage/concessions department including but not limited to: Point of Sale system, credit card processing, cash management, inventory tracking, product and sales tracking, time-clock, scheduling and payroll management systems.
- Other duties as assigned by the Event Sales Manager, Executive Director or their designee.
Employment Standards:
Education:
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent, or at least 3 years practical knowledge from working in the field in similar position.
Experience:
Minimum three years experience working in similar position.
Experience in supervising staff, PLCB regulations and maintaining records and inventory, experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Point of Sale/Register systems.

Physical Standards
§ Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 80 lbs.
§ Ability to climb and work from ladders and lifts, work while standing for extended shifts.
§ Ability to work in a varied noise environment.
Certifications
§ RAMP Certified.
§ SERVESAFE Manager Certification / Within 90 Days.
§ PLCB Owner/Manager Certification / Within 90 Days
§ Criminal Background Checks and PA Child Abuse Clearances.
§ Certification of First Aid and / or C.P.R. or willingness to become certified.
§ Valid PA Driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle to transport inventory/supplies

Salary and Benefits
§ Salary will be negotiated and commensurate with experience, ranging from $35,000 - $55,000. Benefits, according to the in-force policy documents will include after a 90 day probationary period.
