The admin assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the daily operations of the business run smoothly by monitoring the flow of incoming and outgoing traffic. Their responsibilities include coordinating and handling cashier tasks, addressing intricate payment matters, and handling customer issues that need to be resolved. Additionally, they are responsible for conducting cash register reconciliations at the end of each shift, managing withdrawals, maintaining records and receipts. In certain organizations, the scale operator may also oversee inventory levels, identify low stock, and report on supply and material status.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answering phone calls with excellence to address customer needs promptly, serving as the initial point of contact at the company.
- Assisting with shelfstocking, clean up, and displays
- Keeping the register area neat and stocked with essential supplies
- Counting money in cash drawers at the beginning of a shift
- Rectifying any price discrepancies and resolving complaints from clients
- Issuing the correct change due to the client
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Submitting reports on incoming and outgoing cash
- Being present on the shop floor to assist with customer questions, complaints, and comments
- Managing document distribution and supporting various administrative projects
- Liaising with management to ensure operations run smoothly
- Punctuality, attendance, and working a minimum 50 hours per week
- Coaching, mentoring, and motivating team members to provide exceptional customer service
- Conducting basic data entry tasks as assigned
