What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Dog Groomer position at Scruffy to Fluffy Spa?
Scruffy To Fluffy Spa & Boutique is a full service, one- stop dog facility located just off HWY 377 in Granbury, Texas. Providing full service grooming, bathing, daycare, boarding, pet supplies, treat bakery, and self service bathing facilities. Scruffy To Fluffy has both a well established name and clientele base while accepting new clients daily. We are a higher end groomer and boutique with small dog grooms starting at $65. $1000 sign-on bonus after a consecutive year of employment!
Job Requirements:
-Grooming Certification/ Training
-Minimum 2 years working experience (Will work with you if you just obtained certification)
-Must be 18 years of age or older
-Must at least have a High School Diploma or GED
-MUST OWN your own grooming equipment (dremel, scissors, blades, guards, nail clippers, trimmers, etc.)
-List of grooming/ dog handling references (or reference from your school of certification)
-MUST be able to pass random drug testing & have a cleared background check
-Prefer for our employees to live within a 40 mile radius of the shop
-Calm Disposition
-High level of work integrity and ethic
-Positive and outgoing character
-Must be able to work well with others/ have a team-player mentality
-Own means of transportation
-Ability to work some weekends.
Compensation:
Groomers are paid a commission on each of the grooms they complete. Commission percentage is based on experience and quality of grooms. Employees are off on all major nationally recognized Holidays. In the first 90 days of employment, all employees are on a "performance probation" period, after successfully completing their 90 days there is an option for increase in commission percentage based on an overall work performance evaluation. We do offer discounts to employees on merchandise and supplies. If you have a dog or two they are welcome to come to work with you as long as they get along well with other dogs. One weeks paid vacation is available after completing one consecutive year of employment. Maternity and Paternity leave is allowed (unpaid).
There will be two interviews before a candidate is hired. There will be a formal interview with the Office Manager, and following or on a separate day there will be a working interview with the owner. The owner prefers to see a groomer in action and their quality of work before hiring a qualified candidate.
