Role
SCS Financial is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join the Charlotte office – a former Edge Capital office. As a part of a client relationship team dedicated to serving the financial and investment needs of clients, the Portfolio Manager will work closely with the team to oversee portfolios, generate investment recommendations, coordinate the financial planning process, and communicate actions and performance, freeing up the lead strategic advisor to be out of the office with clients and prospects. We are seeking candidates with a keen attention to detail and experience in portfolio management, financial planning, capital markets research, and client-facing activities such as portfolio reviews.
Responsibilities
- Management of client portfolios and implementation of firm’s investment recommendations using ETFs, mutual funds, SMAs and LP structures
- Support Senior Financial Advisors (SFA) in all aspects relating to client and prospective client inquiries, portfolios, and communication
- Work in close partnership with the Financial Planning team, providing assessments to clients where appropriate
- Developing tailored material to prospective client situations in the business development effort
- Communicating and working directly with clients and prospective clients in support of the SIA
- Responding to inquiries from advisors on investment topics and products
- Work with the Strategy team to shape the capital market views of the firm
- Integrate financial and client data sources to produce client account review materials
- Research and conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Work independently and manage significant projects from start to finish

Education and/or Experience
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University
- 4 years’ prior experience as a portfolio manager (or equivalent role)
- Willing to acquire applicable registrations (as required by individual states)
- Desire to develop professionally through industry designations or other courses of study
Computer Skills
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Advanced experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Comfort with the adoption and use of new technology tools
- Familiarity with eMoney, Morningstar, Black Diamond, Redblack (order management system)
