What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scuba Diver / Crew Member - Brainerd Area position at Scuba Weed Control?
Founded in 2014, Scuba Weed Control is a Minnesota-based, DNR-certified company that has helped hundreds of lakeshore owners in Minnesota and Wisconsin achieve weed-free water for the past 10 years. Unlike companies that use harvesters or chemicals to treat weeds, our unique method uses teams of certified scuba divers who pull weeds by the root and dispose of them off-site where the natural waste is repurposed as compost.
Scuba Weed Control is seeking a Dive Team Member that will train with and work alongside the company Owner, the Brainerd Site Manager, and other employees to complete lake weed removal and pond maintenance projects for private lakeshore owners and commercial organizations across the Brainerd area and beyond. This is a hands-on position that requires a high physical fitness level as we are manually removing weeds and hauling them away.
This is an hourly position for the 2025 season ($16-26/hour), with additional bonus potential based on individual and company performance. This is a seasonal position that runs from approximately May 1st to September 1st. This position offers a flexible schedule, substantial starting pay and financial upside, the chance to work in a team-oriented environment with growth opportunities, and the opportunity to spend your summer working outside on the lakes!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in removing invasive aquatic weeds from lakes and ponds.
- Safely transport and dispose of weeds off-site for composting.
- Help maintain and care for equipment.
- Collaborate with the Owner, a Supervisor, and the team to complete weed removal projects.
