Dental Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. We are a small private office with staff members that have been with us for over ten years and we are looking to add a fun knowledgeable assistant to the group. The ideal candidate will have experience in general dentistry, demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care and infection control. This role involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and safe environment in accordance with HIPAA regulations. We value staying up to date with the latest technology therefore you will be working with a CBCT, intraoral scanner, intraoral camera, Waterlase laser, and Cerec in office milling.

We are currently open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday but will be looking to add a fourth day in the near future.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments are prepared and sterilized.
• Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Record patient vital signs and maintain accurate patient records in Dentrix.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Manage infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment.
• Utilize 3D scanning technology for dental impressions when required.
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations concerning patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred
• Proficiency in using Dentrix software for managing patient records is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry, including understanding vital signs.
• Familiarity with infection control practices and protocols in a dental setting.
• Certification in X-Ray technology is required; additional certifications in CPR or first aid are a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients of all ages
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
