South Dakota Mines seeks an Area Coordinator in the Residence Life office. The Area Coordinator serves as a core member of the Residence Life staff and is primarily responsible for multiple residential communities and the fostering of community and belonging. The Area Coordinator fosters the interpersonal and intrapersonal growth of residential students; develops a positive and open residential community; supervises student staff; and manages main administrative functions and residential facility needs. The Area Coordinator focuses their time and effort on their students and student staff by providing resources and opportunities, crisis intervention, community standards administration, student staff training and supervision, housing occupancy support, and facilities management. This position will also work on departmental and university-wide initiatives. This is a 12-month, full-time, live-on position. A Master's degree in an applicable field is preferred; a bachelor’s degree along with 1 to 3 years of related experience and a valid driver’s license is required. This position requires weekends, holidays, and frequently scheduled irregular work hours.
