The University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business seeks applications for an assistant professor (tenure track) or associate professor (tenure track or tenured) in finance for a position beginning in the 2024-25 academic year. The Beacom School of Business is the flagship business school in South Dakota and the region with its programs consistently receiving high national rankings from institutions such as U.S. News and World Report, Princeton Review and others. The Beacom School of Business’ state-of-the-art Ellis Finance and Analytics Lab provides faculty and students the opportunity for research and business analysis utilizing Bloomberg terminals. Faculty in finance offer an undergraduate major and a specialization in the MBA program. The successful candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate classes in finance. An interest in or expertise in Advanced Corporate Finance and Financial Statement Analysis is desired. The instructor is expected to bring a unique and innovative educational experience to students through both classroom teaching and mentorship. The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes on campus and online. Duties include an annual teaching load of eighteen (18) credit hours (typically, six classes), engaging in related scholarly research, and service for the Department, profession, and broader community. Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in finance or a related field from an AACSB-International accredited business school is required, although ABDs with successful defense by start date will be considered. Expertise in any area of finance will be considered. Candidates must have a record of or potential for contribution to the scholarship of finance. Other requirements are proficiency in oral and written communication, and enthusiasm for engagement and service.
