The University of South Dakota seeks an Honors Program Coordinator for the University Honors Program, one of USD's Signature Programs. The Honors Program Coordinator will assist the Director in organizing student programming for current students, advising students, and recruiting high-achieving students.Primary Duties:Student Programming: The Coordinator will be responsible for planning and executing events to build a sense of community among Honors students. These events will promote the liberal education and pre-professional development of our students through a range of in-class and out-of-class programs. This person will work with the Honors student organization to plan events that academically enrich the broader campus community.Academic Advising: The Coordinator will be responsible for current knowledge of degree requirements at the University of South Dakota and will provide academic advising for current and incoming Honors students. This person will also teach the Honors first-year experience class, which is designed to help entering students transition to life at USD.Recruitment: The Coordinator will recruit exceptional high school students, as well as current USD students, into the Honors program though outreach initiatives, informative events, and/or attendance at college fairs. This person will help plan the orientation for entering Honors students, in conjunction with the Office of Student Services.The Coordinator will also perform other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsTo be considered for this position, an earned Masters degree in any discipline is preferred, in addition to at least one year of administrative or other relevant experience in a college/university setting.
