Instructor, Lecturer, or Senior Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology invites applications for multiple nine-month, non-tenure track faculty positions at the Instructor, Lecturer, or Senior Lecturer level. Rank is dependent on qualifications and the record of the successful candidate.An earned PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or, an MS degree with substantial experience, is required. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one of the following four areas: (1) dynamic systems, controls, & robotics, (2) design theory and methodology, (3) thermal-fluids systems, or (4) solid mechanics. The successful candidate will be a passionate engineering educator that teaches courses at the undergraduate level and participates in service-related activities. Salary is commensurate with qualifications. The anticipated start term is August 2024.The Mechanical Engineering Department takes pride in its excellent educational programs and world-class research activities.
