What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Associate position at SDK Apartments?
SDK is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Associate to join our accounting team. The AP associate will be responsible for full-cycle AP functions for our portfolio of residential and commercial properties.
The ideal candidate will have solid AP fundamental knowledge, intellectual curiosity, eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to work. We are a small but mighty team, and respectful and effective collaboration is critical.
This is an onsite position based in Ridgewood, New Jersey.
About the Position
As our AP Associate, you will…
- Process invoices for payment meeting deadlines, ensuring the validity of expense and taking steps to resolve discrepancies.
- Complete AP procedures including processing weekly check runs, mailing out checks, recording manual payments and stops/voids.
- Manage vendor setup and maintain current W9s and insurance information.
- Track and ensure accuracy of purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate AP files and records including proper GL coding for all invoices.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors.
- Liaise between internal teams and vendors to address billing, payment and reconciliation matters.
- Assist with 1099s, monthly closings, journal entries, bank/credit card reconciliations and audits.
- Prepare AP reports as needed.
- Perform special projects and other duties as needed
About Your Professional Background & Skills
- 3 years of AP experience, preferably with real estate/property management industry experience.
- College degree or multi-location/multi-entity accounting experience is a big plus!
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
- Results-driven, proactive and able to work independently.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Attention to detail, follow through and organization skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with Onesite or other property management accounting software is preferred.
- Must be able to work with any employer in the US without any restrictions whatsoever.

The gross hourly pay for this position is between $21.50 to $23.00. The actual compensation will be based on factors unique to the candidate, including direct years of experience and depth of knowledge.
