What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accounting Manager position at SDL Search Partners?
A Boston-based non-profit organization is looking to add a Senior Accounting Manager to its team. This is a global organization that is very mission-driven. In addition to running the month-end close and technical accounting, the Senior Accounting Manager will manage a team of five and business partner with their international counterparts.
Highlights:
- Lead and mentor a global finance team, driving best practices, internal controls, and process improvements, with a focus on accounting systems and local audits.
- Oversee the preparation of annual financial statements and audits in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
- Manage U.S. nonprofit tax filings, including federal form 990, related IRS schedules, and state filings for exempt organizations.
- Direct U.S. accounting operations, including monthly and annual closings, internal controls, foreign currency translation, cash management, and financial reporting consolidation.
- Develop and enforce accounting policies aligned with GAAP and regulatory standards, promote cost efficiency, and oversee expense analyses for key organizational locations.
- Manage banking relationships and working capital, oversee financial management of complex nonprofit giving vehicles, and act as a technical accounting expert and finance partner to cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
- CPA
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years of supervisory experience
- Experience in a global, non-profit organization
