Dive Boat Captain
Sea Dwellers has been offering diving charters, Instruction, and Resort Vacation Packages in Key Largo for 50 years. We are a full-service dive shop providing scuba diving and snorkeling services in the Florida Keys since 1972.
We are currently hiring Boat Captains to operate our dive/snorkel charters, for either part time or full time. Duties primarily consist of operating our 50-foot Marine Management dive vessel, performing general daily and routine maintenance and upkeep, keeping watch for customer and crew safety concerns, providing boat and dive briefings, and ensuring all aspects of the daily boat operations are completed to our standards and procedures.
Pay is per trip, based on experience and knowledge, ranging from $125 to $160 per trip.
Applicants must have:
-Valid 50 Ton: Near Coastal: MMC License
-General Diesel Engine knowledge, including but not limited to basic upkeep and troubleshooting
-Successfully join and maintain the Keys Consortium Drug Program
-Obtain and maintain professional liability insurance
-Preferred (not required) Divemaster or OWSI
-General knowledge of Scuba Diving, and local knowledge of the Key Largo Reef systems
Work Duties are (but are not limited to):
-Operate dive/snorkel vessel, provide detailed boat safety and site briefings
-Observe riders and divers to ensure safety rules/guidelines are followed
-Provide an energetic, safe and fun environment for our guests, to include greeting guests, maintaining a clean and professional environment, assisting with dive gear, divers and snorkelers, and leading crew throughout the day
-Basic boat opening and closing each work day
-Assist in loading/Unloading boat and passengers
-Complete general scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs as needed
