We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team in a fast-paced boat manufacturing warehouse environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate and timely handling of inbound and outbound materials, parts, and finished boats. The ideal candidate will be organized, safety-conscious, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive incoming shipments of boat parts, materials, and supplies; verify accuracy against packing slips and purchase orders
Inspect deliveries for damage, report discrepancies or issues to supervisors
Log and track inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) or other software
Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and loading finished boats and components
Coordinate with freight carriers and logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping/receiving area
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations
Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed
Collaborate with production, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
1–2 years of experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or marine environment
Experience operating forklifts or the ability to obtain certification
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or basic computer/data entry skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in boat manufacturing or marine industry
Knowledge of freight documentation (e.g., bills of lading, packing lists)
Understanding of inventory control principles
Work Environment:
Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and occasional outdoor conditions
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required
