What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Work Estimator position at Sea Island Land Development?

Primary Responsibilities:
- Review plans, specifications and addenda and prepare preliminary summary of estimates.
- Analyze and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location and other factors to ensure a high quality and timely estimate
- Assess site exposures/construction risks and be able to appropriately analyze cost and reflect these in an estimate
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful bid submissions.
- Engage with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to discuss project details, resolve issues, follow up on bids, and secure estimated work.
- Prepare project documents, material release schedules, client information, project schedules and other documentation to assure a steady stream of information to the Project Managers
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with estimating software (AgTek, Viewpoint, Bid2Win, Excel)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Direct estimation experience in heavy civil construction, engineering or similar fields
- Ability to read plans and perform material takeoffs and estimates
- Must be able to meet bid deadlines
