JOB DESCRIPTION: F&B Coordinator (Seasonal)
DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage
STATUS: Non-exempt
Job Summary:
The F&B Coordinator acts as a lead server assisting with member/guest activities, restaurant service delivery, and providing efficient service by suggestively selling menu items, taking orders and ensuring guests receive great service throughout their meal and collecting payment. Non-tipped position.
Qualification Summary:
Required Experience and Education:
Minimum two experience in hotels, restaurants, or related fields as server
Front of House proficiency
Proficient in POS Systems, Aloha, Micros, etc or similar computer applications
Preferred Experience and Education:
Experience as server, busser, runner, host(ess)
Certifications as required by Federal, State, or Local agencies
ServSafe, TIPS Certification
CPR and First Aid Certification
Physical: Frequent standing and moving about the facilities. Handling objects, equipment, products and working in and being around loud kitchen and restaurant environments. Using keyboards and other office computer equipment. Occasionally push, pull and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must observe details at close range.
Other: Must speak English fluently. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Mathematical skills include basic math concepts, percentages and variances. Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational abilities are often used. Ability to effectively multi-task.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet guests, explains menu items/specials using concise and descriptive language
- Listens and responds to guest’s needs
- Suggestively sells menu items to include appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts
- Promptly and accurately relays guest orders to kitchen staff
- Picks up and delivers orders to appropriate guests within prescribed time limits, ensuring accuracy of the order
- Returns to the table throughout the guest’s visit to ask if they are satisfied, check for refills, clear items as needed from the table and deliver guest check when appropriate
- Assisting in restaurant service deliveries
- Performs side duties such as cleaning, rolling silverware, setting tables, sweeping, etc
- Maintains restaurants/station in a clean and presentable manner at all times
- Complies with all health and safety regulations
- Assisting in planning and conducting member/guest activities
- Working closely with Guest Services to ensure a satisfactory experience with all guests/members.
- Interact with outside contacts:
- Guests – to ensure their total satisfaction
- Owners and/or Principals – regarding operational updates and current issues
- Vendors – to resolve any vendor performance issues, etc.
- Regulatory agencies – regarding safety and compliance matters
- Other contacts as needed (Professional organizations, community groups, local media)
- Any and all other duties as assigned
