Job Overview

Do you enjoy being outdoors, getting hands-on, and making a difference? You’ll play a key role in restoring Florida’s aquatic ecosystems while supporting marine construction projects. Whether traveling to project sites, picking up materials, assisting with equipment setup, or jumping into hands-on tasks, you’ll be an essential part of the team. With your construction experience, you’ll bring valuable skills to the job, helping manage and execute restoration projects and ensuring the success of our habitat rebuilding efforts across the state.

What You Do

  • Marine Construction: Participate in marine construction efforts, including installing equipment, setting up restoration structures, and preparing the aquatic environment for planting and other restoration activities.
  • Team Pinch Hitter: Travel to job sites to procure materials, assist with setup, and provide essential on-site support, taking charge of various tasks to ensure efficient project flow with autonomy and responsibility.
  • Adapt and Assist: Use your construction experience to step in, lift materials, troubleshoot equipment, or perform other hands-on tasks to keep the project moving forward.
  • Respect Restore: Dive (literally) into plants and maintain seagrass and aquatic plants, monitor plant health and water quality, and report on project progress.
  • Learn and Grow: Learn from your teammates, develop your skills, and gain experience in environmental restoration and marine construction.

Location & Travel

  • You’ll work in the greater Tampa Bay area, and a key part of your role is regularly traveling to project sites.
  • Mileage and per diem expenses are covered.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s License and Insurance are required.

Physical Requirements

  • Comfort working in Florida’s diverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to swim strongly and work underwater in varying environments (saltwater, freshwater, low visibility).
  • Capability to lift objects to 60 lbs.
  • Skills in boat operation and trailering, or a willingness to learn.

Bonus Points

  • Experience or interest in environmental restoration or aquaculture.
  • Familiarity with Florida’s ecosystems and aquatic plant species.
  • Additional certifications like OSHA, CPR, or certified SCUBA training.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour
